Advisor to the Minister of Defense Detained
Arshak Ordukhanyan, a former advisor to Minister Suren Papikyan and a member of the Civil Contract party, has been detained. The Investigative Committee of Armenia reports: "Criminal prosecution has been initiated against one individual on charges of creating or leading a criminal organization and committing large-scale computer theft by a criminal organization."
Ordukhanyan is also involved in another criminal case currently pending in court. According to Datalex, he has been charged with organizing illegal migration by falsifying and using documents that validate legal significance and grant rights, as a member of a group.
For the accused Arshak Ordukhanyan, a prohibition on absence and a bail of 5 million drams have been applied. However, later, the prohibition on absence was lifted, while the bail of 5,000,000 (five million) Armenian drams remained unchanged. Judicial hearings are ongoing.
It is noteworthy that Arshak Ordukhanyan was to replace Vilena Gabrielyan, a deputy from the Civil Contract faction who resigned from his mandate.
