We Will Be Able to Open the Border Between Armenia and Turkey: Deputy Foreign Minister
The Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, Vahan Kostanyan, has described the "historic" trilateral summit in Washington involving the USA and Azerbaijan as a turning point for the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, while simultaneously creating an "important milestone" for the normalization of relations with Turkey. He made these remarks in an interview with the Anadolu Agency.
“With this event, we see an important milestone and an opportunity that we can also achieve with Turkey. This connectivity project could be feasible and much more significant in regional and global terms if we also resume communication between Armenia and Turkey,” he emphasized.
Kostanyan expressed hope that Ankara would "reciprocate the goodwill of the Armenian government" by opening the Turkish-Armenian border and establishing diplomatic relations. “We can reach another very important milestone for the stability and economic prosperity of our region, which means we will be able to open the border between Armenia and Turkey and establish diplomatic relations,” he concluded.
