Indian Ambassador in Ijevan Discussing Issues Raised by Protesting Indian Workers
The director of "Grand Textile" company in Ijevan and the ambassador are currently discussing the issue. Neelakshi Saha Sinha, the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of India to Armenia, has arrived in Ijevan in connection with the strike of Indian workers demanding higher wages.
This information was confirmed to Sputnik Armenia by Mher Mirzoyan, the director of "Grand Textile". It is noteworthy that the Indian workers have gone on strike, demanding that their employer pays their salaries.
Later, the company's director stated that the Indian workers are not demanding unpaid salaries, but rather improvements in working conditions, while a three-year employment contract has already been signed with them and the raised demands are impossible to meet.
“At the moment, the Indian ambassador is here, and we are trying to find common ground,” said Mirzoyan.
