US Increases Import of Enriched Uranium from Russia
The United States has increased its imports of enriched uranium from Russia by two-thirds. During the first half of the year, the US has nearly doubled its purchases of enriched uranium from Russia on an annual basis, making Russia once again the main supplier to the US, as reported by RIA Novosti based on data from the US Census Bureau.
From January to June 2025, the total import of enriched uranium from Russia by the US amounted to $755.6 million. This is an increase of 62.2% compared to the same period last year. In total, last year, the US imported uranium worth $623.7 million from Russia.
In June of this year, uranium imports into the US reached $159.5 million, which is nearly one-fifth less than the same time last year.
