Oil Production in the Azerbaijani Sector of the Caspian Sea Declines

Oil production in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea is experiencing a decline. BP, the leading operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) oil fields, has reported a decrease in production in its contract area in its report for the first half of the year. According to the information, an average of 327,000 barrels of oil per day has been extracted from the ACG block, compared to 336,000 barrels in the first half of 2024.

In total, from January to June 2025, the block produced 59 million barrels of oil, which is 2 million barrels less than the same period in 2024. A decline has been recorded in almost all parts of the block, except for the ACE, as this central-eastern section of the Azerbaijani field was put into operation at the beginning of 2024, and production is increasing there.
