Iran Executes Two Men for Alleged Ties to Israel

Iran has executed two individuals accused of terrorism and espionage. This was reported by the official IRNA news agency, citing statements from judicial authorities.

According to the announcement, Mehdi Askarzadeh, who was accused of participating in the activities of the ISIS terrorist organization, and Rouzbeh Vadi, found guilty of spying for the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, were executed in the morning. The sentences had previously been confirmed by Iran's Supreme Court.

Investigative data indicated that Askarzadeh underwent military and ideological training in Syria and Iraq, participated in military operations in Syria, and prepared terrorist activities within Iran.

Rouzbeh Vadi was reportedly employed at one of the country’s vital state institutions and had made contact with Mossad operatives through social networks. The investigation revealed that he had met with them in the Austrian capital, Vienna.

The Iranian side also claims that Vadi transferred secret information to Israel about an Iranian leading nuclear expert, who was later killed in an Israeli strike.
