Man Abducts Minor, Commits Sexual Acts: Investigative Committee
During the preliminary investigation of a criminal case initiated by the Yerevan Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee, evidence has been obtained regarding a stranger who abducted a minor and committed violent sexual acts. Furthermore, the same individual attempted to commit similar acts against another minor, but the crime was not realized due to unforeseen circumstances, as his actions were thwarted by individuals present in the area.
A public criminal prosecution has been initiated against him under Article 191, Part 2, Point 3 of the Criminal Code (abduction of a person), Article 198, Part 3, Point 3 (violent sexual acts), and Article 44-198, Part 3, Points 2 and 3 (attempt to commit violent sexual acts). Pre-trial detention has been applied as a measure of restraint against him.
The criminal proceedings have been sent to the supervising prosecutor with a request to approve and forward it to court for substantive examination.
