According to the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a new aftershock occurred at 13:35 Moscow time, located 213 kilometers from the regional capital. The epicenter was registered in the Pacific Ocean at a depth of nearly 39 kilometers.
The aftershock was one of the strongest following the main earthquake. Within 20 minutes, four additional aftershocks with magnitudes ranging from 4.8 to 5.7 followed.
It is worth noting that a powerful earthquake occurred near the shores of Kamchatka on the morning of July 30. It was the strongest since 1952, with authorities reporting a magnitude of 8.8.
