Georgia to Support Dialogue Between Armenia and Azerbaijan: Kobakhidze

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan during a UN conference in Turkmenistan.

According to the Georgian government, the meeting discussed the friendly relations and strategic partnership between Georgia and Armenia, successful cooperation in various fields, as well as ongoing processes in the region. "During the meeting, special attention was paid to the importance of peace and stability in the South Caucasus. The Prime Minister emphasized that the joint statement by Armenia and Azerbaijan regarding the completion of negotiations on a peace agreement is an important step in this direction. Irakli Kobakhidze also confirmed the readiness of the Georgian government to facilitate dialogue and thus ensure long-term peace and stability in the region," the statement said.
