Shots Fired at Bus Serving Route 50, Ministry of Internal Affairs Provides Clarification
According to operational information received by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, shots were fired at the side window of the bus serving route 50, registered under the Yerevan City Hall, on Khaghagh Don Street in the Erebuni administrative district.
Photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reports that law enforcement officers found traces of gunfire on the bus's side window upon arriving at the scene. Gegham Asatryan, the spokesperson for Yerevan Bus LLC, stated on his Facebook page that around 18:40 to 18:50, a damage was observed on the bus's glass in the Erebuni administrative district. The driver, upon reaching the final destination, notified the police to report the incident. Fortunately, there were no injuries. Further details regarding whether the damage was caused by a potential gunshot or other reasons should be obtained from our colleagues at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.
The spokesperson for the Ministry, Narek Sargsyan, informed Auroranews that there is currently no confirmed evidence of gunfire. 'It is 90% likely not a gunshot; it could have been caused by hot and cold flow tests or a stone. Gunfire doesn’t just happen; it is either a bullet or something that comes out from somewhere,' Sargsyan added. Necessary measures are being taken to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
