Trump Warns of Tsunami Threat After Powerful Earthquake in Kamchatka

Residents of the Hawaiian Islands have been warned of a tsunami following a powerful earthquake in the Pacific Ocean. This was announced by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Trump stated that the tsunami warning remains in effect for Alaska and the U.S. Pacific coastal areas, emphasizing that Japan is also under threat.

The U.S. Tsunami Warning Center reported that the strong earthquake in the Pacific Ocean could generate tsunami waves exceeding 3 meters in height, reaching as far as South America, including the coasts of Ecuador and Chile.

Authorities in Japan and the Hawaiian Islands have announced emergency evacuations from coastal areas to higher ground.

Additionally, it has been reported that the first tsunami waves have reached the coast of California in the U.S. following the powerful earthquake near the Kamchatka region.

Earlier, it was reported that a strong earthquake measuring 8.7 magnitude occurred off the coast of Russia's Kamchatka. After the earthquake, wave heights in Kamchatka and the Kuril Islands reached 5-6 meters, indicating that the tsunami was quite powerful.
