High Fire Danger Anticipated in Armenia
Due to the influx of tropical warm air from the south, high thermal background is expected in the Ararat Plain, the foothills of Vayots Dzor, the valleys of Syunik, and Yerevan from July 29 to 31 and August 1 to 3. During the day, temperatures are expected to reach +38 to +40 degrees Celsius between 16:00 and 17:00. In these areas, as well as in the foothills of Aragatsotn and Kotayk, a high fire danger situation is also anticipated over the next five days.
In Yerevan, dry weather is expected on July 29 during the day, and August 3 will also be free of precipitation. On July 30-31 and August 1-2, short-term rain and thunderstorms may occur in some areas of the city during the evening hours, with winds intensifying to 16-19 m/s during thunderstorms.
In the regions, on July 29 during the day, and on July 30-31 and August 1-3 in the afternoon, short-term rain and thunderstorms are expected in isolated areas, with the possibility of hail. The wind will be from the west at 2-5 m/s, with wind gusts expected to reach 17-20 m/s during thunderstorms. The air temperature is expected to gradually rise by another 1-2 degrees during the day on July 29 and 30.
