Suspect in Attempted Murder on Pushkin Street Detected and Arrested

On the night of July 12, at 3:45 AM, a report was received by the operational management center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs indicating that an ambulance had transported a 29-year-old man with a "major vascular injury to the neck" to the hospital.

As a result of operational-investigative measures conducted by the Central Division of the Community Police, it was determined that around 1:55 AM on Pushkin Street in Yerevan, the 29-year-old man and his friends confronted a group of other young people for swearing in a crowded area. Following this, both sides demonstrated open disrespect towards each other, verbally abusing one another and exchanging punches. One individual from the opposing group inflicted bodily harm on the 29-year-old with an object.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident of hooliganism, and measures taken within the framework of the inquiry have clarified certain circumstances of the incident and the identities of the participants. It has also been established that the individual who attacked the 29-year-old with a sharp cutting object intended to unlawfully deprive him of life.

A 22-year-old resident of Yerevan has been detected, arrested, and taken to the division, followed by his transfer to the prosecuting authority. The investigation is ongoing.
