Russian and American Funded Media Are Engaged in Spreading the Same False Theses: Armenian Foreign Ministry

The spokesperson for the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Ani Badalyan, made a post on her Facebook page, stating: "‘Russia Today’ and ‘Radio Liberty’ are engaged in spreading the same false theses. Is this a fantasy? This stunning synchronicity, which at one time seemed unbelievable and of the genre of fantasy, is clearly visible in the almost simultaneous publications by ‘Russia Today’ and ‘Radio Liberty’, not only in their headlines and content but even in the identical collages of accompanying photographs. This is hard to consider a mere coincidence.

Disinformation. The ‘information’ reflected in such publications has no relation to reality and is assessed by us as part of a hybrid war against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Armenia.

Syunik. The ‘Freedom’ radio station surpassed itself yesterday, forgetting the minimal knowledge of geography and searching for non-existent territories and names within the territory of the Republic of Armenia. Let us remind that there is a region in Armenia called ‘Syunik’; the use of different toponyms casts doubt on respect for Armenia's territorial integrity.

Coincidence? It is also hard to classify as coincidence the fact that such similar materials are sometimes published without previously adequately verifying the Armenian Foreign Ministry's position regarding their content. On the same day, another material published on the radio station's website claims that ‘the spokesperson of the foreign ministry was unavailable today’, when the spokesperson was literally in direct contact with the coordinator of the respective media publication at that very moment, expressing official dissatisfaction regarding the publication about Syunik and demanding the material's removal.
