Iran Bans MPs from Bringing Mobile Phones into Parliament
Iranian MPs have been barred from bringing mobile phones to their workplace. Iranian media reports that Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has prohibited lawmakers from using mobile phones inside the parliamentary building.
According to the Speaker, mobile phones distract MPs from fulfilling their immediate duties. Meanwhile, opponents of the decision argue that mobile phones actually assist lawmakers in performing their responsibilities, as they allow them to stay connected with their constituents.
