Ukraine Launches Massive Attack on Rostov Region

Ukrainian drones have launched a massive attack on the Rostov region during the night. Two cities, Novocheboksarsk and Shakhty, along with three districts—Myasnikovsky, Rodionovo-Nesvetaysky, and Aksaysky—were struck, announced acting regional head Yuri Slyusar.

Following the drone wreckage falling, fires broke out in various parts of Novocheboksarsk, which were quickly extinguished. Four vehicles were also damaged. Additionally, unexploded drone parts fell in two locations in the city, with one hanging from a tree near a residential building.

According to videos released by local residents and reviewed by Astra, the drones may have targeted the railway station and the Novocheboksarsk state power plant. Following the drone attack, traffic was congested at the railway crossing in the city, causing significant delays.

Slyusar reported that three people were injured in Novocheboksarsk as a result of the attack. Two women sustained light to moderate injuries near the railway station, while another victim was hospitalized in critical condition with a shrapnel wound to the abdomen.

Furthermore, Slyusar mentioned a fire broke out in a private residential building in the Rodionovo-Nesvetaysky district during the attack; however, residents were unharmed. The shockwave from the explosion in Myasnikovsky district shattered windows in several houses of an agricultural cooperative, and rooftops caught fire, but there were no casualties.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, air defense systems shot down 33 Ukrainian drones during the night—12 in Tula region, 11 in Rostov region, six in Nizhny Novgorod region, two in Bryansk region, and one each in Kursk and Kaluga regions.
