Iran and Russia to Conduct Exercises in the Caspian Sea
Iran and Russia will begin the CASAREX 2025 military exercises in the Caspian Sea on July 21, involving the naval forces of both countries and the personnel of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), an elite unit of the armed forces. This was reported by the Tasnim state news agency.
According to the agency, the joint maritime search-and-rescue exercises organized by the Iranian Naval Forces will take place in the Caspian Sea for three days starting tomorrow. The exercises will involve the naval forces of Iran, the IRGC, the naval forces of the Russian Federation, and observers from the countries of the Caspian region.
Tasnim clarifies that the purpose of the exercises is to enhance maritime security and the level of cooperation between the naval forces of the Caspian Sea countries.
