US Deploys Nuclear Bombs to the UK Due to Russia

According to the UK Defence Journal, the US has deployed nuclear weapons in the UK for the first time in 17 years. Several B61-12 thermonuclear bombs have been supplied to the Lakehneith Air Base in Suffolk.

Previously, US nuclear weapons were stationed at the base during the Cold War but were removed in 2008 as part of nuclear arsenal reductions in Europe.

The publication notes that the return of nuclear weapons could indicate a significant change in NATO's nuclear strategy in light of deteriorating relations with Russia and the reinforcement of nuclear deterrence policies.
