Nearly 800 People Killed in Gaza While Receiving Humanitarian Aid Since Late May
A new report from the United Nations indicates that nearly 800 people have been killed in Gaza while receiving humanitarian aid since the end of May, with most of the casualties occurring near the facilities set up by the humanitarian foundation initiated by the United States and Israel. This information comes from data released by Ravina Shamdasani, spokeswoman for the UN Human Rights Office.
The two-month operation of the foundation, which enjoys support from the US and Israel, has been marked by chaotic scenes and killings in the Gaza Strip. According to France-Presse, almost every time the foundation's trucks distribute aid to Palestinians, Israeli forces have opened fire on people coming to receive food.
The UN and other leading international humanitarian organizations have refused to collaborate with the foundation, arguing that it serves Israeli military objectives.
