The Armenian Information Space Should Be Free from Manipulative Attempts by Foreign Forces: RTR

The Commission on Television and Radio has issued a statement emphasizing that the information space of Armenia must remain free from manipulative attempts by foreign forces. The statement highlights that various programs of "RTR-Planet" and "First Channel. Global Network" have repeatedly violated both the provisions of the Agreement and the legislation of the Republic of Armenia, reflecting an obvious contradiction with the traditional, mutually respectful allied relations between Russia and Armenia.

The commission underlines that the background of animosity and lawlessness created by the messages from these television companies does not contribute to the process of mutual recognition, respect, and appreciation between the societies of our two nations. We must acknowledge that these two Russian TV channels continue to include misinformation and content that incites public tension, creating fertile ground for physical violence, insulting remarks, and hatred.

The Commission reiterates its position: the public multiplex should not be used to serve foreign political agendas, and Armenia's information space should be free from any manipulative, propaganda, and provocative influences from foreign forces, as well as attempts to interfere in the internal political situation. Our primary duty is to protect public interest, national dignity, and the right of Armenian citizens to receive information from balanced and credible sources.
