Nikol Pashinyan Files Lawsuit Against Media Outlet

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has filed a civil lawsuit against the newspaper "Hraparak," demanding a retraction and compensation.

The lawsuit was received by the Yerevan Civil Court on June 4. According to information from Datalex, "Hraparak" published an article in 2025 stating that the country’s leader should meet a broad range of requirements, such as being literate, intelligent, prudent, and moral. Therefore, it is vital to determine whether he is cheating on his wife.

The plaintiff requests the court to obligate the newspaper to publicly retract what he considers defamatory information contained in the article. He is also asking for a compensation of 1,000,000 Armenian drams for non-material damages caused by the defamation.

It is worth recalling that on June 6, Pashinyan stated in a Facebook post, attaching a link to the aforementioned article, that he would definitely sue "Hraparak" to prove that family and spiritual life are valuable and principled for him, not a means to mislead people.
