Public Criminal Proceedings Launched Against MP Arthur Sargsyan
“I request to grant permission for the initiation of public criminal proceedings against the National Assembly member of the 8th convocation, Arthur Lavrenti Sargsyan,” said the Attorney General Anna Vardanyan today in the National Assembly.
The MP is accused of preparing terrorism and usurpation of power. According to Vardanyan, Sargsyan is charged with having prepared terrorism and usurpation of power together with a group of individuals.
“The MP from the ‘Armenia’ faction has been an active participant in the movement led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan. He joined the fight from the very beginning in Tavush. The charges against him also fall within the framework of Bagrat Galstanyan’s case. According to the petition, the MP has recruited individuals through fellow members of the movement to include them in action groups, meaning groups designed for active operations,” the Attorney General announced.
