Russian Ambassador Called to Armenian Foreign Ministry, Application Submitted

Recently, we have continued to witness targeted, often offensive statements and comments by Russian state media and officials against the Armenian authorities. In response, the Armenian Foreign Ministry expressed its dissatisfaction through diplomatic channels. The Russian ambassador to Armenia has been summoned to the Foreign Ministry, where he was presented with an application. This has been reported by Radar Armenia.

In the ministry's response, it was specifically noted that a "strong protest has been expressed regarding the blatant unfriendly and often hostile propaganda against the Government of the Republic of Armenia, which is actively fueled by statements from certain officials, members of the Russian State Duma, media outlets, and representatives of the expert community."

The application highlighted that the comments and statements made by certain members of the Russian State Duma regarding the legal actions of the Armenian law enforcement agencies in preventing a coup attempt have caused not only surprise but also outrage. According to these statements, the detention of individuals planning a coup is regarded as another unfriendly move by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The ministry has called on its Russian counterparts to take immediate and effective measures to stop the aforementioned unfriendly manifestations against the Republic of Armenia. It is also worth noting that today the Armenian Television and Radio Committee issued a statement emphasizing that the public multiplex should not be used to serve foreign political agendas.
