The North-South International Transport Corridor is Beneficial for Baku as Well, Says Peskov

The development of the North-South International Transport Corridor is advantageous for both Russia and Azerbaijan. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, in response to a question about whether the tensions between Moscow and Baku could harm the project.

“This is a very important project that aligns with the interests of both countries,” said Peskov.

The Kremlin spokesman also expressed hope that all issues in the relations between the two countries would be clarified through direct dialogue.

It is noteworthy that relations between Russia and Azerbaijan have soured following the arrest of several Azerbaijanis in Yekaterinburg, during which two individuals died. Additionally, Azerbaijan has detained the head and chief editor of 'Sputnik Azerbaijan' for four months, accusing them, along with eight citizens of Russia, of participating in an organized criminal group.
