The Civil Contract Faction Introduces a New Draft Statement to the National Assembly
The National Assembly faction of the "Civil Contract" party has introduced a draft statement regarding the "Unacceptability of Seizing State Power by Violent Means and the Protection of Democracy." This was announced on Facebook by the lead reporter of the draft, the head of the ruling faction, Hayk Konjoryan.
"Dear compatriots, the NA faction of the 'Civil Contract' party has introduced a draft statement regarding the ‘Unacceptability of Seizing State Power by Violent Means and the Protection of Democracy.’ A special session of the National Assembly will be convened shortly, where we will discuss the draft statement, and the National Assembly will officially express its assessment concerning the planned act of terrorism against the Republic of Armenia. Power in the Republic of Armenia belongs to the people. Long live the Republic of Armenia," the statement reads.
The justification references that in June 2025, law enforcement discovered an attempted act of terrorism aimed at overthrowing the constitutional order in the country and forcibly removing the legitimate authorities of the Republic of Armenia.
