Erdogan Meets with Tatarstan President

The President of Tatarstan met with the President of Turkey in Ankara. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov discussed cooperation prospects in trade and investment between the Russian region and Turkish provinces.

The parties examined opportunities for increasing trade turnover. According to the press service of the Russian region's leadership, last year's trade volume between Tatarstan and Turkey amounted to approximately $5.3 billion.

During the meeting, Recep Tayyip Erdogan requested Rustam Minnikhanov to continue supporting joint projects between Tatarstan and Turkey. The president also noted that more than a quarter of Turkish business investments in Russia are made in Tatarstan. Additionally, Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized the importance of Rustam Minnikhanov's work through the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group.
