The Largest Cyber Attack in History Has Occurred
On June 18, an unprecedented scale data breach occurred on the internet, as reported by Forbes. Approximately 16 billion login credentials, including passwords, have been made publicly available.
Experts believe this is the largest breach in history, resulting from several malicious software programs, according to researchers from the Cybernews platform. The breached data includes login details linked to all major platforms, including Apple, Google, Facebook, GitHub, Telegram, and even government services.
The information has predominantly been aggregated in the form of URLs, accompanied by usernames and passwords. This allows access to virtually any online system without any additional actions.
The founders of Keeper Security have referred to the breach as a “mass exploitation schematic,” noting that this represents a new dataset rather than a repetition of previous leaks. The only exception is the breach of 184 million passwords recorded in May. All other datasets had not been known until now.
