50 Trucks Loaded with Armenian Brandy Arrived in Russia, Deputy Minister Says

Fifty trucks laden with Armenian brandy have crossed the Georgian-Russian border and reached their destination in Russia. This was stated today by the Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia, Arman Khojoyan, during the preliminary discussions of the annual report on the implementation of the state budget for 2024 in the National Assembly.

Previously, we reported that Armenian brandy producers had staged regular protests in front of the Georgian embassy in Armenia, expressing their dissatisfaction with the obstacles created by the Georgian side regarding the passage of trucks from Armenia to Russia.

Khojoyan noted that the issue related to Armenian brandy emerged in April of this year and remains a focus of the ministry's attention. According to him, they are in constant contact with the entrepreneurs, almost on an hourly basis.

“From April until now, 557 customs declarations for export have been completed, of which 391 declarations are considered exported, which accounts for approximately 70 percent,” said the deputy minister. He added that this means if the product was to be exported to Russia, it has already reached the customs authorities in Russia.
