Matviyenko Arrives in Yerevan

A delegation from the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, headed by Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, has arrived in Armenia on an official visit, according to the press service of the Federation Council.

"The delegation led by the Chairman of the Federation Council, Valentina Matviyenko, has officially arrived in the Republic of Armenia. The agenda includes meetings between Matviyenko and the country's leadership," the Federation Council's press service stated.

Specifically, a meeting is scheduled with the President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonian. Matviyenko and Simonian will also open the 39th meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Federation Council of the Russian Federation and the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. The main theme is, "The 80th Anniversary of Victory: Unity in Protecting the Historical Memory of Future Generations."

The delegation includes Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Yuri Vorobyov, Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee Vladimir Bulavin, First Deputy Chairman of the International Relations Committee Vladimir Jabbarov, Deputy Chair of the Social Policy Committee Yulia Lazutkina, Deputy Chair of the Committee on Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Self-Government and Northern Affairs Alexander Uss, member of the Committee on International Affairs Alexander Karelin, and member of the Social Policy Committee Andrey Chernyshev.
