Police Chief and Criminal Authority are Relatives, Says Minister of Interior

The Minister of Interior, Arpine Sargsyan, did not deny that the newly appointed Police Chief, Aram Ghazaryan, has a familial connection with the deceased criminal authority known as "Kanakertzi Tuy," Arthur Ghazaryan.

"I will not deny the familial connection; Armenia is a small country, and everyone may have various relatives. However, I emphasize that this cannot in any way influence Mr. Ghazaryan’s performance. You will see for yourselves. But in a specific position, the individual has a clear mission, and if the person can freely execute the tasks set before the Police Chief with their human and professional qualities, I see no issue," the minister stated.
