17 Police Officers Dismissed from Service, Interior Minister States

According to data from the first months of 2025, 10 police officers have been dismissed from service due to drug use. This was stated by Interior Minister Arpine Sarghsyan during a joint session of the Standing Committees on Defense and Security and Financial and Budgetary Affairs of the National Assembly.

According to her, based on 2024 data, 17 police officers were dismissed for the same reasons.

The minister proposed drafting a bill that would require internal affairs ministry employees to undergo mandatory testing once a year, and additionally if there is suspicion from superiors (upon the minister's directive).

She emphasized that it is also an appropriate time to discuss the implementation of verification measures across various force, law enforcement, and public service sectors.
