I Received a Letter from the Anti-Corruption Commission, I Have Just Learned That I Own an Apartment: Vahe Hovhannisyan

"The Anti-Corruption Commission wrote me a letter, stating that they checked the Cadastre and found out that I am a co-owner of an apartment and requested clarifications. At that moment, I learned that I am a co-owner of an apartment," said Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan during a briefing with reporters in the National Assembly.

The minister mentioned in his latest declaration about the sale of a land plot, which he has never declared, in addition to a mention of an apartment acquired back in 2004.

"The land plot I mentioned is one from which I separated a part and sold. It has not been a separate property; it was all part of one land plot, which was separated and sold, thus it has not been presented separately. Regarding the apartment I declared, it is the one where I was born and I am registered there by law. I became a co-owner of that house where I have been registered," said the minister.

It should be noted that the Court of Appeals of the Anti-Corruption Court obliged the Anti-Corruption Committee to initiate criminal proceedings in April 2025 concerning corruption risk activities in Vahe Hovhannisyan's declarations, but the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia has appealed this decision of the Court of Appeals.
