UK Enters War Preparedness Mode: Starmer

The United Kingdom is transitioning into a war preparedness mode. This was announced by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer while presenting details of the government's strategic defense review, as reported by the New York Times.

"We are moving towards war preparedness, which will be the primary objective of our armed forces. When powerful armies threaten us, the best deterrent is to demonstrate our ability to maintain peace, using force if necessary," he stated.

Starmer pledged to put an end to the "dilapidation of the country's armed forces." He aims to create an army that is "more integrated, better prepared, and deadlier than ever." He mentioned that the UK will build at least six ammunition factories, develop new long-range weapons, and invest in air and missile defense.

Starmer also confirmed that 12 new nuclear submarines will be constructed, promising that a new submarine will be created every 18 months.
