The Name of the New Police Chief is Announced
Aram Ghazaryan, the governor of Lori province, will be appointed as the new Police Chief of Armenia. This was reported by ArmLur.
“Dear residents of Lori province, dear compatriots, I inform you that I am resigning from my position as governor of Lori province and am ceasing my political and party activities,” Aram Ghazaryan wrote on his Facebook page.
“This decision is driven by the circumstances of taking up another position, regarding which the competent authorities will provide information in due course and within the stipulated deadlines. I would like to express my special gratitude to the Prime Minister of Armenia for the trust and the great honor he has given me to serve my native Lori province as governor. I express my deep gratitude to the beloved residents of Lori province for their trust and support, the governor's staff, and the mayors for our joint work and dedication, my colleagues who are also governors, as well as the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures and his deputies for our cooperative and effective collaboration. I extend my personal thanks to my colleagues in the executive and legislative branches for their continuous support and constructive relationships, as well as to our party friends for our united work and ideological cohesion,” Ghazaryan wrote.
Aram Ghazaryan has held various positions within the police system from 2000 to 2020. It is noteworthy that Aram Hovhannisyan was dismissed from his position as Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and from service in the police; the decision was signed by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
