Medinsky Reveals Details of Negotiations

The Russian Federation has handed over a detailed and well-prepared memorandum in two parts to the Ukrainian side. This was reported by the head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, who is also an assistant to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Ukraine has taken it for review. The second part of the Russian memorandum suggests various ways to cease hostilities,” he elaborated.

Medinsky noted that Russia will unilaterally transfer the bodies of 6,000 servicemen to Ukraine. The parties will also exchange severely ill and injured individuals based on the principle of “all for all”, and medical commissions will be organized for the exchange of seriously wounded soldiers, with these exchanges being regular.

“The Russian Federation has offered Ukraine a ceasefire for 2-3 days in certain areas of the front. This is intended to provide an opportunity to collect the bodies of the deceased. Ukraine will work on Russia's proposal for a ceasefire,” he stated.

According to the head of the Russian delegation, the issue of children was discussed with Ukraine. Medinsky presented a list of 339 children's names provided by Ukraine and noted that Russia will consider each situation involving children on the Ukrainian list who have lost contact with their parents.

“Recently, the Russian side returned 101 children, while the Ukrainian side returned about 20. Russian military personnel are responsible for the treatment of children, just like Soviet soldiers were,” he said.
