Honorary Consulate of France Opens in Goris

Today, the honorary consulate of France was inaugurated in Goris. The honorary consul is Karmen Apunts.

The Ambassador of France to Armenia, Olivier Decottignies, greeted the attendees in Armenian, stating that Goris is a special city for France. He remarked, “For the French, Goris is the crossroads of Syunik.”

It is noteworthy that the 5th Armenia-France Decentralized Cooperation Conference has also commenced in Goris today. Among the guests arriving from France to participate in the conference are mayors, regional delegations, and parliamentarians, including the presidents of the Armenia-France friendship groups in the French National Assembly and Senate, Laurent Wauquiez and Gilbert-Luc Devinaz, alongside Fabrice Pannecouke, the president of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France.
