Whitkov: That Phone Call Will Remove Obstacles
The U.S. special representative for Middle East affairs, Stephen Whitkov, expressed hope that the planned phone call between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will be successful and "will remove obstacles" regarding the resolution in Ukraine. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
Recently, Trump announced his intention to have a phone conversation with the Russian president on Monday.
According to the German newspaper Bild, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz intends to speak with U.S. President Donald Trump before the potential phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Earlier, the Financial Times reported that Putin refused to discuss a 22-point peace plan crafted by Whitkov, involving the participation of Ukraine and Europe.
