The Number of Injured in Makhachkala Shootout Has Increased: New Details

At least seven people have been injured in a shootout that took place in Makhachkala. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Health.

"Preliminary data indicate that seven people were injured in the shootout at the intersection of Magomedtagirov and Kerimov streets in Makhachkala," the statement said.

According to the agency, one police officer has died, and two others have been hospitalized. One of those hospitalized is in serious condition. Two injured militants have also been taken to the hospital. Additionally, two civilians were injured.

It is worth recalling that on May 5, four unidentified individuals attacked a traffic police patrol vehicle in Makhachkala and opened fire on the traffic police officers, after which they stole the service vehicle and fled the crime scene. According to Dagestan leader Sergey Melikov, the shootout began when police attempted to stop the vehicle in which the assailants were located.
