Changes for Parents of Deceased Soldiers Regarding Surrogacy Services

The government has made changes and additions to the decision on the partial reimbursement of certain medical assistance and services costs related to reproductive health for the parents of soldiers recognized as missing or deceased due to combat duties or actions of the enemy during military operations.

Specifically, it is proposed that when reimbursing expenses for acquiring donor oocytes or utilizing surrogacy services, the basis should be the referral established by the decision, which the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia should provide to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

At the same time, the established procedure for reimbursing expenses incurred by eligible parents regarding the acquisition of donor oocytes and surrogacy services is maintained.

It is also suggested to review the maximum amount of reimbursement for surrogacy services, increasing it from 5.5 million drams to 8 million drams, taking into account the inflation that has occurred in this market over the past three years.
