Residents Block Mikoyan Street: Details
Residents of Anastas Mikoyan 64 have blocked Anastas Mikoyan Street/Eghvard Highway. The residents have issued a statement saying:
“We, the residents of the six buildings at Anastas Mikoyan 64, have closed Anastas Mikoyan Street/Eghvard Highway since 08:00 on April 14, to raise our voice against the violations, injustices, criminal schemes involving developers, banks, municipalities, and courts, corruption, lawlessness, and the indifference of the state towards its citizens.”
Our demands include ensuring our collective ownership rights over a 3.37055 ha land plot established through project documentation and our purchasing rights, legal assessment on the separation of a 0.4 ha plot from this land area and annulment of the transaction, transferring ownership rights in strict compliance with the requirements of the legislation of Armenia, ensuring buyers are not required to pay any additional amounts for real estate acquired under purchase contracts, providing fair solutions for buyers who obtained the right to purchase through cash payments as a result of illegal actions by developers and notaries, providing clear guarantees regarding the completion of partially completed works related to operating permits without imposing additional financial burdens on buyers, ensuring a clear and impartial investigation and legal assessment of the committed violations, as well as taking due measures against those who committed these violations, preventing any substantial changes to the established project in the future, and establishing legal and regulatory acts based on our example to prevent similar problems for other citizens of the Republic of Armenia.
Message to fellow citizens:
Dear fellow citizens, we apologize for the inconveniences caused by the closure of Eghvard Highway. We, the residents of Anastas Mikoyan 64, realize that our actions may have caused you to be late for work, medical appointments, or other urgent matters today, disrupted your children’s educational process, or prevented you from reaching your elderly parents on time. However, we want you to understand that we respect the rules of coexistence and this closure of roads today and potentially for several days is a forced step after exhausting all existing mechanisms of legislative, negotiation, and civil protest.
As part of our community, we want our children to live in a just, clean, and safe environment, where citizens' property rights are respected and there is no place for corruption, injustice, bullying, and indifference. We also urge our fellow citizens in a similar situation to unite and fight against these detrimental phenomena.

Message to the authorities:
Two months ago, the Prime Minister of Armenia published the ideology of the real Armenia as a vision for the progress and development of the Republic of Armenia, stating that it should be expressed in all spheres of state and public life. One of the pillars of the published ideology is that the people create a state as a tool for welfare. We, the citizens of the Republic of Armenia, nearly 4000 out of 3 million, have decided to create and build welfare in the Republic of Armenia. We have chosen to confront problems and solve them with our own state and through our own state. However, recent events show that there are obstacles or a complete lack of understanding of this ideology within the state governance system.
Seeing our example, no citizen of the Republic of Armenia can believe that this state is the best tool for determining its fate or for predicting its future, and that the best life is only possible within this state. It appears that the only beneficiaries of the ideology of enriching oneself and others are irresponsible businesses and the state system, while the hero is only the taxpayer, and the state does not see developers who malevolently evade taxes reaching billions.
Meanwhile, as stated in the published vision, the logic of enriching and enriching others is only possible in an environment of legality, equality before the law for all, justice, and creativity. These were just examples of how the actions of the developer-state body-municipal bodies-banks quadrilateral contradict at least several points of the published vision.
Therefore, the citizens of the Republic of Armenia, represented by us, must receive a response to the question: Are there holders of the ideas published in that document in the Government or not?
Postscript: The Yerevan Municipality continually advertises how they are returning or liberating green and yard areas that were seized, but at the same time, they are illegally confiscating 4000 sq. m of green yard space from us.
