Israel Pushes the US Toward Military Action: Axios

Israel claims that the administration of US President Donald Trump is considering a military scenario to resolve issues in case negotiations regarding Iran's nuclear program fail. This information was reported by the Axios portal.

According to sources, White House special envoy Stephen Wietkopf informed Israel's Strategic Planning Minister Ron Dermer about the outcomes of the first round of talks with Iranian officials in Muscat, Oman.

It was noted that Israel views the likelihood of reaching an agreement on Iran's nuclear program with 'severe skepticism'. Tehran, in turn, has expressed concern that Washington might withdraw from negotiations again, as it did in 2018.

According to sources, Wietkopf also discussed the results of the first phase of negotiations with officials from Gulf countries, while Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi presented the outcomes to his counterparts from Qatar, Kuwait, and Egypt.
