Minister Warns of Bank Data Theft and Loan Fraud

The Ministry of Internal Affairs urges everyone not to provide personal information or passwords.

“Recently, various fake announcements have gained wide circulation on social media under the names of different banks, which are methods for stealing customers' bank data and subsequently processing loans in their name to embezzle money. A preventive thematic video has addressed the fake announcements circulated under the name of one of the banks operating in Armenia and the mechanisms of these thefts. In the near future, there will be a focus on similar criminal mechanisms related to other banks to prevent their spread.

Dear citizens, do not provide personal data or passwords to anyone, do not click on unknown links, and do not trust suspicious calls and social media pages. In the event of a suspicious call, email, or advertisement purportedly from a bank, contact the call center of that bank. If, however, you find yourself trapped by a scammer, report to the Police,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated.
