Iran Strengthens Its Position in the Caucasus Through Joint Exercises with Armenia

The Iranian Mehr news agency has published a review of the joint two-day exercises conducted by Armenia and Iran. According to the agency, the main objective of these exercises was to contribute to the strengthening of stability in the region and to effectively combat terrorist threats.

It is noted that this collaborative initiative demonstrates Iran's steadfast stance regarding the protection of borders and the assurance of peace in the Caucasus through close cooperation with neighboring countries.

The chief of staff of Iran's armed forces, Brigadier General Seyed Morteza Mirian, confirmed that Iran is committed to maintaining the territorial integrity of all regional states. He stated, “Our strategic doctrine is based on friendly relations and aims to protect regional sovereignty.”

General Mirian also emphasized that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps' ground forces have shown full readiness and close cooperation with the Armenian armed forces, ensuring the effective organization of the exercises.

Various types of weapons were used during the drills, and sniper and engineering team exercises were conducted, along with different tactical operations. The military leadership of Iran monitored all phases of planning and execution of the exercises.

The article notes that these exercises took place against the backdrop of growing tensions in the region and can be viewed as a clear message of Iran's willingness to support peace and cooperation while simultaneously strengthening its national security and strategic positions. Armenia, as a neighboring and historically connected country, occupies an important place in Iran's regional political and defense cooperation strategy.
