We Cannot Just Sit and Wait: Aliyev

One of the important projects being discussed with Iran is the establishment of a railway connection that bypasses Armenia and ensures the connection between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan through Iran. This was announced by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at an international forum held at ADA University.

“The construction of the road has already begun. Currently, a bridge is being built. As for the railway, an agreement between Iran and Azerbaijan is necessary for its construction, as Armenia continues to block our access to Nakhchivan. We cannot just sit and wait; we have decided to build a bypass road, while Armenia will continue to remain a dead end in the region,” said Aliyev.
