Trump Raises Tariffs on China by 125%

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced an increase in tariffs on China. In a public statement, the U.S. leader noted that in light of China's disrespectful approach to global markets, he has decided to raise tariffs on Chinese goods to 125%. The tariffs will take effect immediately.

Trump also added that he hopes China will soon realize that the times when it was possible to reap profits from the U.S. and other countries without penalties are in the past and will no longer be acceptable.

The President mentioned that more than 75 countries have approached U.S. representatives to discuss trade, trade barriers, tariffs, currency manipulation, and other issues. Trump emphasized that these countries, at his directive, have not taken retaliatory actions, leading him to implement a 90-day hiatus, as well as to reduce the retaliatory tariffs to 10%, which will also take effect immediately.
