The U.S. No Longer Discusses Buying TikTok Deal with China

The U.S. is no longer discussing the possibility of purchasing TikTok from China, not just in the near future but in general, reports Fox Business correspondent Charles Gasparino, citing his sources. The deal, which had previously sparked extensive discussions and serious disputes last year, is now not even being considered, especially against the backdrop of a new escalation in relations with the Chinese side.

“As we enter into a trade war that is directed entirely at China,” the sources noted. It is indicated that Washington now takes a firmer stance when it comes to technological and economic cooperation with China, which pertains not only to TikTok but also to other Chinese companies and initiatives.
