Meeting in Dubai with Azerbaijani Side: Source

Meeting in Dubai with Azerbaijani Side: Source

Ararat Mirzoyan has stopped in Dubai for an overnight stay, where he reportedly had unofficial contacts with the Azerbaijani delegation. We sought a comment from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding this information, also asking why the visit of Ararat Mirzoyan to the United Arab Emirates has not been reported. This was reported by 'Pastinfo', citing diplomatic sources.

The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs initially attempted to deny that Mirzoyan was in Dubai, offering to reveal their source. Naturally, 'Pastinfo' rejected the offer to disclose the source, after which it was confirmed that Mirzoyan had indeed been in Dubai. 'There was no unexplained visit, including to the UAE. Following an official visit to Kazakhstan, Minister Mirzoyan returned via the Astana-Dubai-Yerevan flight on March 28,' the Armenian Foreign Ministry stated, insisting that no meeting took place there.

'No official meeting or unofficial contact occurred with representatives of any country in Dubai. This response is provided as a denial of the erroneous 'information' mentioned in your inquiry,' stated the Armenian Foreign Ministry, without clarifying why the minister had an overnight stay in a 'transit country.' Also, questions arise as to why the fact of Minister Mirzoyan's presence in Dubai was initially denied if, indeed, there was nothing to conceal. Notably, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed Mirzoyan's presence in the UAE after becoming aware that there was an eyewitness.
