Proposals to Send Peacekeepers to Ukraine are Pointless, Says Szijjarto

Proposals from EU countries to send peacekeepers to Ukraine are completely pointless and premature, as the necessary conditions for such action do not yet exist. This was stated by Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto while commenting on the process of resolving the Ukrainian conflict.

“All European ideas currently being put forward are entirely irrelevant, as the issue of maintaining peace can only be relevant if there is peace in the first place. Talking about peacekeeping during a time of war is nonsense. Therefore, it is unclear when and how peacekeepers would even be deployed there. The minimum conditions for that do not exist. I believe that the ongoing discussions about peacekeepers simply reflect a desire among Europeans to somehow express themselves, which has nothing to do with the actual state of affairs,” said the Minister in an interview with the Ultrahang YouTube channel, adding that a peace agreement and negotiations on ceasefire conditions are the priorities at this time.
