Israeli Army Announces Ground Operation in Rafah Region

The Israeli military has announced that it has initiated ground operations in the southern city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip. The Defense Forces emphasized that the aim is to expand the security zone in southern Gaza.

Earlier, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu highlighted that if the Israeli hostages taken in October 2023 are not released, additional pressures may be applied, including the potential seizure of parts of the Gaza Strip.

Despite a ceasefire established in January, Israel resumed strikes towards Gaza on March 18, demanding the immediate release of all hostages.
