They Are Trying to Oppress Us Through Fear and Intimidation: Karen Simonian

This morning, the Anti-Corruption Committee of Yerevan, the 6th Division, and the Kumayri division entered the office of the "Mother Armenia" alliance and began searching the residence of the head of the staff, Ara Voskanyan, as well as the general office of the "Mother Armenia" alliance. At this moment, the same structures are also searching the residences of several supporters of the "Mother Armenia" alliance and are near the house of Martun Grigoryan, the mayoral candidate for the "Our City" alliance, to search his residence.

This information was shared by Karen Simonian, a member of the "Mother Armenia" alliance. "At this moment, they are unable to find anything, although there is nothing special for them to find. We are not hiding anything. They are trying to oppress us through fear and intimidation, but it will not succeed, our decision will not change. We have been told that a search is being conducted, but they do not mention a valid reason, saying we will know in the end," said Karen Simonian.

Simonian also added that many of their supporters have already been summoned to the police station for questioning. "We assess this as an attack by the authorities against the opposition force participating in the elections in Gyumri, this is political persecution," he said.
